Alinco's ERW-4, ERW-7 and ERW-8 accessories are PC connection cables. The
ERW-4 is a serial cable, the ERW-7 is a USB cable. The ERW-8 is a new USB to mini-USB cable which allows a wider range of programming options, compared to the ERW-7. NOTE; Alinco recommends use of the ERW-7 (not ERW-8) when updating firmware in their radios. The ERW-4, ERW-7 and ERW-8 cables are common to all Alinco radios that are capable of PC programming. For example, all versions of DR-135/435 series transceivers are PC programmable. Alinco has freeware for DJ-X2/X3/X7/X2000 scanners
which are compatible with the ERW-4C. See

Btw, we have confirmation in writing from Alinco Inc. in Japan that
both *ATRC P/L and *Strictly Ham P/L are NOT factory-authorised Alinco importers
or distributors - yet both complain about parallel importers!!! Would they be hypocritical parallel importers?? Yes!! Either email Alinco in Japan or check their website at www.alinco.com to absolutely confirm the above information. Don't you be fooled!!! *Only equipment purchased from Andrews Communications and their authorised dealers carries Alinco's factory-backed warranty. Our special thanks to ATRC P/L for recommending us as your local Alinco factory authorised exclusive/sole amateur radio dealer for Australia! We just received (09-01-12 @ 7pm) this email direct from Alinco in Japan; "Comment of ATRC is not true (re being supplied direct from Alinco - as stated on ATRC website). So, if ATRC thinks they are only distributor in your market is definitely not true. Andrews is most important partner. I will strongly complain to this company". |
