Auto-tracking models can easily be upgraded to full SynScan "Go-To" computerised operation by simply  plugging in a computerised handset which has AZ SynScan firmware.
This firmware can be downloaded via www.skywatchertelescope.com or www.skywatchertelescope.net to your EQ SynScan handset.

Please note that Skywatcher "GoTo" Dobsonian base assemblies are NOT designed or intended to be turned (rotated) manually by hand. In some instances, the azimuth (horizontal) motor drive may not engage properly if the internal clutch adjustment is set too loosely to allow easy manual turning of the base assembly by hand. Tightening or loosening of the main clutch bolt will be required.

ALTITUDE SETTING NOTES RE OLDER EQUATORIAL MOUNTS, SUCH AS EQ3 AND EQ5...

Please do not screw or unscrew any mount's latitude (altitude/vertical) locking screws in order to force the mount higher or lower in latitude angle. To adjust a mount's latitude angle, loosen the mount's latitude locking screws whilst holding the mount! Then, slowly push the mount up, or let it down, by hand whilst continuing to wind or unwind the locking screw. Locking screws are designed to lock the mount in place at a set latitude angle. No force should be applied to a locking screw when screwing it in or unscrewing it. Latitude locking screws are intended ONLY for LOCKING a mount's latitude angle, NOT for adjusting (forcing) its
latitude angle! "Forcing" this screw will often cause damage to the mount's internal locking screw's thread! Such damage is NOT
covered by warranty, of course!

Please note; Newer, stronger Skywatcher equatorial mounts
have larger bolts, etc., so the
above situation is less relevant

 Btw, most short-tube refractors are designed to be used in conjunction with a diagonal. Focus may not be achievable without using a diagonal or a focal extender tube. Diagonals and focal extenders are at additional cost if not included in refractor packges.

Insurance cover for goods in transit is available from us for only $2 per $100 value of goods. Please advise us if you require this option when ordering.

Please consider insurance because we are not responsible for loss of parcels or damage sustained by parcels as the carrier is responsible! We do pack well! If your order (e.g. telescope or binocular) is damaged in-transit by the freight company then you must claim on the freight company, not ourselves!!

However, if you have paid us for insurance then you simply claim on us. We are quick at resolving damage claims, compared to
many freight companies.

Please do NOT write <fragile> on anything you send to us as doing so greatly increases the risk of damage. Please try to "double-box" all products sent to us.
