Transmitting simultaneously on 121.5 MHz and 243 MHz, the MT300 is fully COSPAS/SARSAT satellite compatible and features a minimum 48 hour continuous transmission time.

The MT300 is fitted with long life Poly-carbonmonoflouride Lithium batteries which have a shelf life of 10 years. (SMA regulations require that the battery be replaced at half the shelf life).

The MT310 is specifically designed as a personal beacon. It is small enough to be conveniently carried in your top pocket or hung around you neck using a lanyard (supplied).

Note: The MT310 is not a satisfactory substitute for a full marine EPIRB. If your application is primarily marine, GME recommends the MT300 EPIRB which is specifically designed to float upright in water with the antenna in a vertical position, as required by AS/NZS 4330 par. 2.1.1(g).

Advantages of a 406 MHZ EPIRB over the older analogue EPIRBs include world wide coverage, position location accuracy to within 5kms and a more stable transmitted signal resulting in faster response time. Most importantly, the addition of a unique digitally coded message provides Search and Rescue authorities with vital information including the country of beacon registration and identification of the vessel in distress thus greatly reducing the incidence of false alerts and unnecessary deployment of valuable rescue resources.

An auxiliary homing transmitter is included in the MT400 to enable suitable equipped Search and Rescue forces to home on the distress beacon.
