Important notes re GSO mirrors... GSO mirrors are guaranteed diffraction limited. They achieve the theoretical limits of resolution for their respective surface areas. GSO Newtonian Dobsonian telescopes have BK7 type glass paraboloidal mirrors and are precision figured and polished to an absolutely outstanding 1/12 (or better) surface wave specification! I have witnessed this exacting and time consuming process numerous times, along with the confirming surface wave error printouts from GSO's three laser double-pass interferometers, during my many visits to the GSO factory in Taiwan. Lee says most competitors don't visit any overseas factories, ever! The high industry standard for mirror surface wave specification is 1/10 wave, yet very, very few telescope manufacturers regularly achieve it. Due to continuing and dedicated quality improvements at GSO, more and more optical accessories from GSO are now achieving an amazing 1/16 surface wave spec.! GSO guarantees no more than 1/12 surface wave error. Outstanding! We know of no other manufacturer achieving such high quality levels at similar pricing...	OPTICAL DESIGN NOTES Ritchey-Chretien astrographs are generally regarded as being the best design for astrophotography. Ritchey-Chretien (RC) optical designs are generally regarded as being optically superior to Schmidt-Cassegrain (SCT) designs and "edge" corrected SCTs due to their resulting flatter field.
