When Lee visited Kenpro in Japan (prior to Yaesu purchasing Kenpro) many years ago, Kenpro demonstrated the new G-5500 azimuth and elevation combination of rotators to him. After the demonstation, Kenpro immediately adopted Lee's suggestion to fit a U-shaped plate between the two rotators in order to create a more balanced and stronger mounting arrangement. The G-5500 is supplied with an even stronger U-shaped plate between the rotators, these days!

If required, a pack of two plugs (i.e. one for the rotator and one for the controller) is available.

The control box plug is a rectangular white plastic 6-pin plug. The rotator plug is a round metal 7-pin plug,
with a black plastic cover.


NOTES

Insurance cover for goods in transit is available from us for only $2 per $100 value of goods. Please advise us if you require this option when ordering.

Please do NOT write <fragile> on anything you send to us as doing so greatly increases the risk of damage. Please try to "double-box" all products sent to us.

Warranties are not transferable. We don't offer replacement warranties.
Customer-caused damage is not covered by warranty, of course.

Please don't mount your rotator upside-down. If you do, it will fill up with rainwater. The above photos show the correct orientation. Please visually check and resistance check each plug termination at each of the control cable.

Please note that the metallic "clunking" sound inside Yaesu rotators is simply the rotator's electromagnetic braking assembly sliding inside the motor when/if the rotator is shaken back and forth. This is a normal condition.

Outdoor computerised antenna rotator

Computerised light duty antenna rotator package comprises antenna rotator unit, digital display module and an infrared remote hand controller which has a 68-channel programmable direction memory function.

Remote hand controller requires 2 x AAA alkaline batteries (supplied). Three-digit, e.g. 088° (degrees) or 256° (degrees) with compass control in 1° degree increments. Rotates at 1 rpm. Includes 1A @ 18VAC power supply!
 
Requires 3-conductor control cable (not supplied). You may use 10A rated 3-core household AC insulated cable as control cable. Control cable can be up to 85m (280 ft.) in length.

Will rotate up to a lightweight, short-boom, 3-element yagi on 27/28MHz.
Will rotate lightweight, small surface area 6m, 2m or 70cm band yagis.
Will NOT rotate large HF beam antennas, e.g. amateur radio 3-element triband yagis (14/21/28MHz bands), 20m band 3-element yagis, etc.

Heavy and/or large surface area amateur HF band/s yagis require at least a medium duty rotator, e.g., G-450A.

Accepts from 1.25" (32mm) to 2" (50mm) diameter rotating mast in top clamps. Accepts approx. 32mm~45mm stationary supporting mast within its side mounted U-bolts. Operating temperature range; -20°C to +55°C.
Has brake pads & steel gears, too! Rotational torque approx. 115kg/cm.
