my new Wouxun KG-UVD1 handheld recently at JOTA. Its battery was
still in surprisingly good condition after 5 hours of continuous
operation. The radio remained comfortable to hold as it didn't become hot or warm. It also felt quite light, weighing only 248g.
The transmitting audio quality was excellent and
its receiving audio was crisp and clear - just as good as from any
of the big four Japanese manufacturers! Well done, China!
Also, it proved easy to operate.
The overall feel and performance of this radio is one of true
commercial 2-way radio quality. Given its low price and the overall

KG-UVD1P manual programming notes...
When in channel mode the radio will
receive a signal if either (or both) channels are set to that
signal's frequency. If a new frequency is to be entered into a
memory channel then that memory channel must firstly be deleted,
because it can't be overwritten or edited once entered.
